We are pleased to announce the beginning of our search for the next Superintendent of the Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD). This is an exciting and critical process for our school, and we are committed to finding a leader who embodies the values, vision, and excellence that ISD represents.
The Superintendent Search Committee is comprised of Andy Leffler, Ann Reifel, and Lucy Witte. The purpose of the committee is to oversee a transparent, inclusive, and collaborative process for selecting a highly qualified superintendent who will continue to champion the bilingual education of Deaf students across Indiana. The Search Committee will work in partnership with the ISD School Board, the State Personnel Department, and the Governor’s Office to ensure that their efforts align with the needs of the school community and the broader educational mission of the state.
As part of this process, the Search Committee will host a series of input sessions designed to gather valuable insight from key stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, alumni, and community members. These focus groups are an opportunity for you to share your vision about the qualities, experiences, and leadership style you believe are essential for our next superintendent. Your feedback will play an important role in shaping the criteria for our selection process.
Input Sessions:
Wednesday, December 11
3:15pm – 4:00pm – ISD 1st shift staff
4:15pm – 5:00pm – Community
Thursday, December 12
8:00am – 8:45am – ISD 3rd shift staff
2:00pm – 2:45pm – ISD 2nd shift staff
Student input sessions TBA. We encourage all members of the ISD community to participate in this process. We also welcome your feedback through written comments or signed videos, which can be submitted via email to suptsearch@isd.k12.in.us.
