Slam Dunk at Family Literacy Night!

Last week, our school gymnasium transformed into a vibrant basketball court for our annual Family Literacy Night, and it was a slam dunk! With a sports theme centered around basketball, the evening was packed with activities that kept everyone on their toes.

We were thrilled to welcome special guest Victoria Monroe, author of the inspiring children's book "Swishing." Victoria captivated our audience by reading aloud from her book, sharing her journey as an author, and emphasizing the importance of literacy in a fun and engaging way.

Families participated in basketball-themed literacy games, showcasing their skills both on and off the court. From word searches to storytelling relays, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Parents and children came together not just to engage in these fun activities but were also thrilled to see Victoria Monroe share her inspiring story, making the evening a celebration of reading.

Here are a few snapshots from the evening that capture the spirit of Family Literacy Night:

A huge thank you to Victoria Monroe for sharing her story and inspiring our community. We look forward to more events that celebrate literacy, creativity, and the joy of reading together. Until next time, let’s keep shooting for the stars! 📚🏀
