Celebrating Excellence in Deaf Education: Dr. David Geeslin Receives the Robert R. Davila Award of Merit

Dr. David Geeslin attended the CEASD conference held in Pittsburgh, PA, from April 9-11, 2025, where he was celebrated for his achievements. Kim Kause, Assistant Superintendent of Education, and Matt Krueger, Assistant Superintendent of Student Affairs, presented the CEO/Superintendent Leadership and Service Award, honoring his many years of leadership and service that have positively impacted the lives of Deaf children in Indiana.


Additionally, Dr. Geeslin was honored with the prestigious Robert R. Davila Award of Merit by the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf (CEASD). This award, presented by Luanne Barron, Superintendent for the Kansas School for the Deaf and CEASD President, recognizes exceptional leaders who have made significant contributions to the field of Deaf Education, impacting countless lives over a career spanning more than 20 years.


Dr. Geeslin's dedication to advancing Deaf Education is reflected in his significant influence on educational practices, substantial contributions to relevant research, and active service on CEASD committees and the executive board. He has effectively advocated for the field through political and public relations efforts and has initiated national improvements in Deaf Education standards.


Dr. Geeslin's commitment and innovative spirit have transformed the lives of many students and inspired fellow educators. Congratulations to Dr. Geeslin on these well-deserved honors!
